portusmodAfter talking it over, we have made the decision to close Portus Novus.
We want to apologize again for assumptions we made in regards to not clarifying our stance on JKR. As head mod, that is my mistake and I’m sorry. It is a sensitive subject for many people and one we didn’t navigate with enough clarity and foresight.
While the overall situation has found a peaceful resolution, we understand that the nature of the situation is divided. Harry Potter means a whole lot to a lot of people, just as JKRs words have deeply impacted the people she’s targeted.
We do not want, by simply existing, to be something that further divides people or causes conflict or hurt feelings. When something has the capacity to put people so at odds with each other as witnessed on plurk, it stops being fun for everyone involved and we don’t want to be the reason for that, now or ever.
Thank you, everyone, for being a part of this experience, however brief. We hope everyone has a kickass 2021!
